Alicia StubbersfieldPoet. Alicia has lived and worked in the North of England for most of her life and spent a large part of her life based in Wales, although she currently lives in Gloucestershire. She is course leader for Creative Writing for The Open College of Arts, tutored extensively for the Arvon Foundation, and recently at Ty Newydd. Alicia completed an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University in 1992 and her first collection came out in 1994, the second in the autumn of 1999. Alicia was an English teacher for fifteen years and has often worked in schools, both primary and secondary, and with teachers on INSET days. She was part of a pilot scheme in 1999 in reader development workshops at The Poetry Library in London. Alicia has now spent ten years of freelancing as a writer. She does work for The Arvon Foundation, was a previous member of the National Association of Writers in Education committee and is a member of the North-west Arts Literature Panel. She is tutor in Creative Writing for Leeds University School of Adult and Continuing Studies and the Open College of the Arts. She also does Writing and Reading weekend courses for East Midlands Arts.
