Playwright. Barry was born in London, and educated at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and at London University. He is now living in Wales and has written for radio, stage and television. Barry was twice prize winner in the Arvon International Poetry Competition. His dramatic work includes: Playing the Man (Salisbury Playhouse), Mixing It (Channel 4 TV) Octopus (Channel 4 TV), Tandoori Nights (Channel 4 TV), Family Pride (Central TV) seventeen episodes for The Bill (Pearson TV), The Cabinet of Doktor Caligari (Nottingham Playhouse & Lyric Hammersmith), Peak Practice (Carlton TV), Byker Grove (BBC TV) and The Vice as co–devisor & principal writer (Carlton TV).
