Born in California. After leaving Stanford University she journeyed to Europe in her early twenties, living first in Paris then in Britain where she has since remained. A mother of four, she lives in west Wales in an eighteenth century house once inhabited by Virginia Woolf. Leslie has raised four children on her own by working as a television broadcaster, writer and teacher on health and for fourteen years she was an editor at Harpers & Queen. Leslie is an award–winning author of several bestselling non–fiction books. In recent years she has become increasingly concerned with the process of enhancing individual health but also with re-establishing bonds with the earth as a part of helping to heal the planet. She currently works in seminars with people about healing oneself and the planet and completed her first novel in 1993, a spiritual thriller about Beethoven entitled Ludwig (Heinemann, 1993).
