Poet. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, both of Jon's maternal grandparents were born in Wales. He was educated at Northwestern University, Chicago and Washington University, St. Louis. Jon has been naval officer, corporation president, journalist, saloon owner and university lecturer in America. He is currently director of study programme for American students at Trinity College, Carmarthen, and is owner of a Welsh-American pub in St. Louis. Jon's poems have been published in literary magazines and anthologies in both the USA and Great Britain. He has won prizes in major poetry competitions in both the USA and Britain, most recently in British National Competition 1989 and Cardiff International Competition, 1990. Jon is a former director of staff for the MA course in Creative Writing at Trinity College, Carmarthen.
