Literary Critic and University Professor. Walford was born in Pontyberem, and educated in the University of Oxford. He is a former Senior Lecturer at St. Anne’s College, Oxford. Walford was Director of the Department of Continuing Education, University of Wales, Aberystwyth (1976–1997), is holder of a personal chair in English Literature of the University of Wales and is currently Visiting Professor of English, University of Rio Grande, Ohio. He is a Fellow of Academi.
