Fiction writer. Jan was born in Scotland, and educated at Edinburgh University where she took an English degree. She spent a year at the Sorbonne, and also trained in drama at Central School. Jan has written 16 books for young people, published by Longman and Stanley Thornes. She has read her stories on BBC Radio Wales and also writes for adults. At present, Jan is a tutor in Creative Writing with the Department of Continuing Education, Cardiff University.
