Anne BennettSaga writer. Anne was born in a back-to-back house in the Horsefair area of Birmingham. The daughter of Irish parents, she was raised amongst Ireland’s rich culture. She married and had four children, followed by four grandchildren. Anne was a teacher in north Birmingham until an accident in 1990 put paid to her career and confined her to a wheelchair. She moved to Wales in 1993 and had her first novel published by Headline in 1998, followed by three more in 1999, 2000 and 2001. She changed publisher to Harper Collins in the summer of 2001 and had her first book published with them in October 2002. In 2006, after sixteen years in a wheelchair, she miraculously regained her ability to walk. Anne is a Member of Academi.
