Writer, historian, broadcaster. Born in Barry and educated at University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Emeritus Professor of Women’s History at the University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd. Committed to rescuing the lost history of women’s lives in Wales and making her findings available to a wide audience. She has published extensively and her works include a guide to researching local women’s history and a study of women’s lives in inter–war Britain. She has also co–edited a collection of Welsh women’s writings on the Second World War.
