Types of books published: poetry collections (books and pamphlets); first collections; brief, thematically-focussed pamphlets by published poets between full collections with their main publishers; pamphlets of essays on topics in poetics
Editorial policy: Mulfran Press publishes writers from the UK and beyond, with a focus on writers and artists based in or with a strong connection to Wales. It has a particular interest in the way visual images can enhance the presentation of poems. We regret that we are not at this time in a position to consider Welsh language material. Essays on topics in poetics are by commission only.
Submission of manuscripts: Please query first by post or email, with a sample of up to 10 pages of poems. See our website for up-to-date details on electronic submission. Books accepted are likely to be by authors who have previously been published in magazines or pamphlets, so mention of such publication in your initial query is helpful.
Average time taken to respond to unsolicited manuscripts: We aim to acknowledge submissions within two weeks, and make an initial response within two months.
Any other information: Poetry collections and pamphlets on the list include pamphlets Work and Food by Peter Daniels with cover image and an illustration by Moira Coupe, The Sychbant by Roy Morgans with illustrations by Marion Kenning; books Insensible Heart by Maureen Jivani with cover image and an illustration by Jill Schoenmann, The Consolations by Duncan McGibbon with cover image and an illustration by Ben McGibbon, Ashes of a Valleys Childhood by Lynda Nash with period photographs.
