Host International Literature Residencies – 9 March

British Council are offering two grants to enable UK Literature festivals, organisations or universities to host an international resident in 2018-19.

 

Wicked Young Writer Awards – 12 March

Awards for young people aged between 5 and 25, to write about absolutely anything (Fiction/ Non-Fiction)

 

BBC National Short Story Award – 12 March

Award for published UK residents: £15,000 for first prize and £600 for four shortlisted short stories not exceeding 8000 words.

 

Wonderbox Publishing Call for Digital Fiction – 15 March

Wonderbox Publishing, with Bangor University, is sponsoring the second annual competition to discover digital fiction that appeals to mainstream audiences. Welsh or English entries welcome.

 

The Gordon Burn Prize – 15 March

Prize of £5,000 and the opportunity to undertake a writing retreat for up to three months at Gordon Burn’s cottage in Berwickshire (Fiction/ Non-Fiction)

 

Rubery Book Award – 31st March

Book Award for independent and self-published titles. All genres

 

The Lampeter Review – 14 April

Issue 16 is calling out for Poetry, Prose, Plays and Screenplays on the topic of Staying.

 

The International Welsh Poetry Competition – 27 May

For budding writers and published authors from all over the world to compete for cash prizes.
