As part of a day celebrating the 12th century Welsh princess, Nest ferch Rhys, award-winning local author Tracey Warr, will talk about the history behind her fiction. Warr’s latest novel, Conquest: Daughter of the Last King is an account of the tumultuous life of Nest who was a potent symbol for both sides in the conflict between the Welsh and the Normans. Carew Castle was one of the main homes of Nest ferch Rhys and her family.

Also at Carew Castle on 30 July Taffire Theatre Company bring the story of Princess Nest to life in an energetic and musical open-air performance in the Castle Courtyard.
