Penny Boxall, final Writer in Residence of 2017 will lead a day-long practical writing masterclass at Gladstone Library.

Penny will help participants to produce original work and refine previous drafts using historical material as a guide. The class will look at a number of poems written between the English Reformation and the Reform Act, all poems dealing, in some way, with the idea of transformation. These will be used as spurs for the group to write its own original poetry. In the second half of the class, participants will have the chance to rework and ‘reform’ previous poetry drafts.

Tickets: £35 (includes lunch and tea / coffee).
