The Chate Room at King Street Gallery will be hosting a very special and unique exhibition which combines poetry and visual art. Renowned poet and author Mererid Hopwood released her first collection of poems aimed at adults a year ago, and during the last few months, gallery members have been creating artwork in response to individual poems selected from the collection, Nes Draw. The collection of poems has been translated from Welsh to English by Tim Ap Hywel, and both versions will be displayed alongside the corresponding artwork. It will therefore be wonderful to see the emotional response by visual artists to Mererid’s poetry in paintings, ceramics, textiles and printmaking.

Elinor Jones, who is a well known TV presenter and now the High Sheriff of Dyfed, will be opening the launch event on Friday 9th of December from 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm. Mererid herself will also be there. There will be drinks and nibbbles. A warm welcome to all.
