As a result of the recommendations made in the Arts Council for Wales’ Investment Review, Literature Wales is established as the national company for the promotion of literature following the merger of Academi and the Tŷ Newydd Writers’ Centre.
A management board is established to govern the activities of The Welsh Academy and its independent governance guaranteed by Literature Wales’ Articles of Association.
