Introduction

The 2012 Wales Book of the Year Award, administered by Literature Wales with funding from the Arts Council of Wales, will be presented to the best Welsh-language and English-language works first published in 2011 in the fields of creative writing and literary criticism.

In the 2012 award the Wales Book of the Year award will be judged in three categories for the first time: Poetry, Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction (click here for the new eligibility criteria). A Short List of three books in each category will be announced. At the award ceremony in summer 2012, the winners of each category will be announced. There will also be one overall winner chosen from the three category winners.
