Deadline Approaching to Submit your Unpublished Novel

The Sony Reader Award

Sony UK has teamed up with the Dylan Thomas Prize to create a new award category for unpublished writers aged 30 and under. The Sony Reader Award for Unpublished Writers has been created specifically to support up and coming young British novelists, using electronic book formats for the entire process; from submission of the entries through to judging and then publication.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £5,000 and see their book published in eBook format and made available for download in time for the Christmas season.

Any British resident aged 30 and under who has not already been published can enter their novel (minimum 80,000 words in EPUB, Word, Text or PDF format) but the deadline is fast approaching: entries must be received by the 31 August, 2010. Chair of the judges Cerys Matthews will help decide the shortlist, which will be made public on 14 September. The winner will be announced at the final awards ceremony of the Dylan Thomas Prize on 1 December in Swansea.
