SPECIALIST SUBJECT?: "STAN BARSTOW"

South Wales resident, Academi Fellow and renowned dramatist and ficition writer Stan Barstow is to feature as a specialist subject on BBC2's Mastermind. The episode, to be screened at 8.00 pm on Friday, 5th February 2010, will include a round of questions on the novels of Stan, who is most famous for his gritty northern realist novel A Kind of Loving (Michael Joseph, 1960). A cult classic, the book was adapted into a film directed by John Schlesinger and starring Alan Bates.
