Twenty Thousand Saints by Fflur Dafydd has been chosen for a UK libraries promotion, The People's Book Prize, for October. This offers everyone the chance to vote for their favourite book from the selection online, between 1 October and the end of November. There is an overall vote and award ceremony in July. Fflur is a novelist, singer-songwriter and also currently a lecturer in Creative Writing at Swansea University. In June this year she was announced as the first winner of the Oxfam Emerging Writer of the Year Award for her novel Twenty Thousand Saints. This was shortly followed with further success at the National Eisteddfod in Bala, where she was awarded the prestigious Daniel Owen Memorial Prize for Y Llyfrgell.
