May You Live in Interesting Times

bloc: Creative Technology Wales

22 - 24 October 2009

Technology is now firmly placed in the everyday and in response to this, May You Live in Interesting Times, a three-day biennial Festival of Creative Technology in Cardiff will look at ‘do-it-yourself’, through a range of commissions, projects, exhibitions, discussions and artist-led events across all artforms. At the heart of this, the Festival will address technology-enabled social innovation and shared idea development.

The Festival will focus on works that draw on available technology and existing networks that are used day-to-day by both local and global communities.

Participants in this year’s Festival include: Eddo Stern (www.eddostern.com); Ghana ThinkTank (www.ghanathinktank.grographics.com); The People Speak (www.theps.net/); Alfred Sirleaf, Liberian Analogue Blogger; MAYkers Faire featuring The Amazing Rolo (www.theamazingrolo.net/), Kathy Hinde (www.kathyhinde.co.uk/), Dorkbot Bristol (www.dorkbot.org/dorkbotbristol/), and much, much more.

May You Live in Interesting Times, Festival of Creative Technology, Cardiff is a partnership between bloc: Creative Technology Wales and Chapter. The 2009 festival programme has been developed in collaboration with British Council, 4iP, Ffotogallery and Wales Arts International.
