Celebrate 10 Years of Roundyhouse
This year Roundyhouse poetry magazine is celebrating its tenth year of existence - an incredible achievement for a small press journal. The editorial board may have changed with writers coming in and dropping out but the quality of the magazine and of the poetry and articles it has published has remained consistently high.
To celebrate its tenth year Roundyhouse is holding a series of events, starting in September and running through to the end of the year. These will be readings from established poets combined with the ever-popular "open mic" sessions.
Events will take place on the following dates:
Friday 18 September
The Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea, 7.00 pm
This event marks the launch of the Woman's Poetry issue, published in September, and will feature readings by Catherine Fisher, Frances Presley, Ivy Alvarez and others. Plus open mic. Free Entry
Friday 16 October
The Ceridwen Centre, near Llandysul. 7.30 pm
Featured readers are Kathy Miles and Simone Mansell Broome. Entry is free and there will be an open mic session.
Wednesday 16 December
At Oriel Canfas, Canton, Cardiff, 7.30 pm
This final celebration, again featuring Women's Poetry, is organised in conjunction with the Women's Arts Association and will feature readings from Emily Hinshelwood and others. The open mic session is available to all readers, men and women.
